Rommell Sermons

Rommell Sermons is an award-winning actor with a BA in Theatre Arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz. His stage work reflects a commitment to powerful storytelling, historical narratives, and revitalized classic works.

Currently playing Professor Vic Hale in The Harm (a role expressly written just for him), he is excited to be joining The Kangalee Arts Ensemble giving new life to classic works and building new works that dare to live…in dangerous times.

While at the State University of New Paltz, he performed the title role in The Emperor Jones, The Mayor in A Day of Absence, and Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew.

Recent performances include Resurrection, A Lesson in Blood, A Long Way from Home, and Home is Sweet Sorrow — completing the acclaimed Blood Trilogy by Ann L. Thompson-Stretching — as well as The Lewis and Clark Expedition: The Story of York, at the American Theatre of Actors.

Additional theater credits include The Breakout at The Flea Theater, A Raisin in the Sun at Paul Robeson Theatre, The Healing Zone at Black Spectrum Theatre (AUDELCO nomination for Best Ensemble), and Death by Poker at Nuyorican Poets Cafe.

Rommell is the recipient of the Jean Dalrymple Award for Best Character Actor and continues to bring depth, truth, and humanity to every performance.
